Situated within the lively De L'Europe Amsterdam, our brasserie is a celebration of flavors, blending a warm ambiance with the essence of French classics. From delightful dishes to a welcoming atmosphere, Marie invites guests into a world of culinary delight. Currently, we are seeking a Sommelier to join both the team of Brasserie Marie led by restaurant manager Lucas Diepgrond, and the Wine team of De L’Europe, led by Wine Director Antonello Nicastri. We are looking for someone who excels in providing outstanding hospitality and thrives in an environment committed to excellence, collaboration, and exceptional service.

What you’ll do

Collaborate closely with the whole kitchen, service and Sommeliers team | Ensure a flawless service both food and wine related | Design and develop Marie’s wine list including alcohol free options | Responsible for Marie’s beverage cost | Provide trainings on a regular basis | Report to the respective department manager | Offer recommendations based on guests' preferences | Maintain wine stock, update wine lists, and lead the inventory | Support the team by sharing your knowledge and training colleagues on wine pairings

Who are you

Experienced waiter with a background in fine dining settings | Passionate about hospitality and connecting with people | Quick to adapt and remain effective in a dynamic and ever-changing environment | Enthusiastic about sharing your knowledge (e.g. about wines) with colleagues | Positive, dynamic team player with a keen attention to detail | Excellent communication skills for quick and effective coordination | Experienced in training and mentoring junior staff | Always ready with a smile and solutions for any challenges that may arise | Active in the overall service, enthusiastic to take over a section if needed.

Nice to have

WSET Level 3 or 4 certification or a similar qualification | Passion for luxury hospitality | Previous experience in a French Brasserie or a 5-star hotel | Knowledge in Forbes and LQA standards |
