Nestled within the iconic De L’Europe Amsterdam, our trattoria is a celebration of authentic Italian cuisine, crafted with tradition and passion. From the inviting ambiance to the rich, soulful dishes, Graziella embodies the essence of Italy—bringing people together over food made with love. As Chef, you will be responsible for shaping the culinary experience within our restaurant concept, ensuring the execution of our commercial, financial, and operational goals. Trattoria Graziella is managed as an independent concept within our hotel, welcoming everyone—from locals craving a taste of true Italian comfort food to travelers seeking a memorable dining experience. You will oversee everything from menu development and kitchen operations to marketing, profitability, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene. 

What You'll Do 

Executing a concept and positioning it in the market |  Create a valuable offer according to the target group | In collaboration with Restaurant Manager and the Food and Beverage Manager, apply menu engineering and determine sales prices | Leading the kitchen team of Trattoria Graziella | Prepare culinary masterpieces in collaboration with the team | Inspire and guide kitchen staff | Achieving departmental objectives, including profitability | Ensuring professional working relationships, open communication | Recruiting, training and coaching staff | Optimizing the culinary possibilities | Stay up-to-date with the latest culinary trends | Share knowledge with the rest of the team | Being a true ambassador outside and inside the restaurant. 

Who You Are 

At least 2 years of Culinary Management experience within a comparable environment | Passionate about culinary excellence and creativity | A dynamic team player with strong leadership skills | Quick to adapt and remain effective in a rapidly changing environment  | Always smiling and armed with solutions for any challenge that comes your way Creative | Enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues | Entrepreneurial mindset | Fluent in English | Good knowledge of Italian trade and menu terms | Positive, dynamic team player with strong attention to detail | Be able to motivate and develop employees | Eye for detail | You like to do things differently. 

Nice to Have 

Privately, you take the best care of all your friends and can turn any leftovers into a feast | Demonstrable experience in making a restaurant financially and operationally successful | Good knowledge of the city of Amsterdam.
